Abstract art inspired by Gardens by the Umajam (GBU)—a journey of the imagination.

Nestled in the scenic landscape near the serene Umajam River, Gardens by the Umajam (GBU) is a breathtaking destination in Loreto, Agusan del Sur. With its lush greenery, vibrant flora, and stunning lights that illuminate the garden at night, this enchanting retreat offers visitors a tranquil escape and a chance to connect with nature. Whether you're coming from Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao, here's a guide to help you plan your journey to this hidden gem.

From Luzon

Travelers from Luzon can start their journey by flying from either Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila or Clark International Airport to Davao International Airport or Bancasi Airport in Butuan City. Flights to Davao typically take around 2 hours, while flights to Butuan take about 1.5 hours.

Recommendation for Travelers from Outside Mindanao: For a smoother journey, we recommend flying to Davao International Airport instead of Butuan. Davao offers more direct access to buses bound for Loreto/La Paz, making your travel experience more convenient.

From Davao, you can take a bus or van heading directly to Loreto via the AC bus line bound for Loreto/La Paz. If you land in Butuan, take a bus heading to Trento Terminal, as there is no direct bus route to Loreto. From Trento, you will need to look for a Piago (tricycle) to take you to Loreto.

From Visayas

If you're coming from the Visayas region, you can fly from Mactan-Cebu International Airport to either Davao International Airport or Bancasi Airport in Butuan City. The flight duration to Davao is about 1.5 hours, while flights to Butuan take around 1 hour.

From Davao, you can take the AC bus line directly to Loreto/La Paz. If you arrive in Butuan, follow the same route as travelers from Luzon—take a bus to Trento Terminal and then a Piago to Loreto.

From Mindanao

For travelers within Mindanao, reaching Loreto is relatively straightforward. If you're coming from Davao or Tagum, the AC bus line provides a direct route to Loreto/La Paz, making your journey more convenient. For travelers from other parts of Mindanao, take a bus or van to Trento Terminal. From Trento, you will need to find a Piago to complete your trip to Loreto.
