To enhance the capabilities of the people working at Loreto Microtel, the leaders of this municipality, with the help of two of the units under the Office of the Municipal Mayor, Loreto's Real Initiative For Education (L.O.R.I.F.E.), and the Local Economic Enterprises (LEE), reached out to the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA) in the province of Agusan del Sur. Thankfully, they agreed, and so the training pushed through.
The training will benefit not only Loreto Microtel because this will add skill to the participants who might want to find a greener pasture. Loreto Microtel is a startup enterprise of the Municipal Local Government Unit of Loreto, Agusan del Sur. Its current financial standing cannot afford wages higher than the minimum. Common human instinct is to look for a better-paying job or career. We cannot force employees to stay on a job.
The municipal management understands the employees' sentiments, so they are equipping them instead to have leverage once they apply to a different organization.

The Essence of Hotel Housekeeping Training
Hotel housekeeping training is an essential component of hotel operations, focusing on maintaining cleanliness, order, and a comfortable environment for guests. Listed below are some key areas that Loreto Microtel management aims to cover in the hotel housekeeping training:

- Room Setup and Organization: Housekeeping staff is trained on how to properly prepare guest rooms, including making beds, arranging furniture, replenishing amenities, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. They also learn efficient and organized methods for managing linen and supplies.
- Safety and Security: Housekeeping staff receives training on safety procedures, including handling hazardous materials, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to fire safety protocols. They are also trained to identify and report any security concerns or suspicious activities.
- Time Management and Efficiency: Training emphasizes the importance of productivity and time management in housekeeping operations. This includes optimizing cleaning schedules, prioritizing tasks, and working efficiently to meet guest expectations while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Customer Service: Housekeeping staff learn the importance of providing excellent customer service. They are trained to be friendly, responsive, and attentive to guests' needs, including addressing special requests or concerns.
- Communication and Reporting: Training includes effective communication skills, both within the housekeeping team and with other departments. Staff learns how to communicate housekeeping needs, report maintenance issues, and coordinate with front desk staff for room status updates.
- Quality Control and Inspection: Housekeeping training often includes techniques for quality control, such as inspection checklists and procedures. Staff learns how to identify and rectify cleanliness issues, maintain consistency, and ensure rooms and public areas meet established standards.
- Sustainability and Environmental Practices: Training may incorporate environmentally friendly practices, such as water and energy conservation, waste management, and the use of eco-friendly cleaning products.
- Professionalism and Personal Presentation: Housekeeping staff are trained in professional conduct, including personal hygiene, grooming, and appropriate attire. They learn to present a positive and professional image while interacting with guests.
Training methods for hotel housekeeping can vary but often include classroom instruction, hands-on practice, and shadowing experienced housekeeping staff. Ongoing training and refresher courses are essential to keep staff updated on new techniques, equipment, and industry best practices.
