Changing Mindset in Business: Cooperate, collaborate, and do not compete.


Competition is good in some ways because of the demand and supply principle, but often it causes more chaos than progress.


What we (really) need is cooperation and collaboration. 


Changing the mindset in business from competition to cooperation and collaboration can have several benefits for organizations. While competition has traditionally been a driving force in business, a shift towards a more cooperative and collaborative approach can lead to greater success, innovation, and overall sustainability. 


Here are some reasons why embracing cooperation and collaboration is valuable:


1. Synergy and shared resources: By cooperating and collaborating with other businesses, organizations can pool their resources, knowledge, and expertise. This synergy allows for the creation of innovative solutions, products, or services that may not have been possible individually. It enables companies to leverage each other's strengths and fill gaps in their own capabilities, leading to better outcomes for all parties involved.

The bars on Siargao Island are a great example. With the increasing number of bars on the island and uncertain numbers of tourists, they created a policy to keep the businesses thriving. They scheduled the parties for every bar to have the opportunity to be visited by partygoers.


By embracing cooperation and collaboration while recognizing the advantages of healthy competition, businesses can create a more sustainable and prosperous ecosystem for all stakeholders involved.
