MLGU Loreto's hospitality during the Naliyagan Festival 2023

Loreto Buffet Booth

In celebration of the Naliyagan Festival 2023, the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of Loreto once again established a booth at the Datu Lipus Makapandong Cultural Center to provide free food and drinks for the people of Loreto, especially to the participants and those who will visit there. This hospitality of the local government started under the leadership of the incumbent Mayor, Lorife M. Otaza. Her care for her constituents and humanity shone through the whole municipality, bringing change to the internal and external environment and a harmonious local government ecosystem.

Naliyagan Festival 2023

The Naliyagan Festival is a six-day annual celebration of the tradition and culture of the residents of Agusan del Sur. It starts on June 12 and ends on June 17. According to an article from the local government of Prosperidad, a Municipality in Agusan del Sur where the government center is, the Naliyagan Festival is a form of thanksgiving for the natives' bountiful year.

The Essence of the Foods and Drinks Booth

The local government of Loreto's food and drink booth perfectly fits the essence of the Naliyagan Festival. The traditional Thanksgiving celebration involves sharing food with family and friends. The Manobo made this more grand because of their hospitable traits. They give more to make their visitors happy.

Many of the MLGU Loreto leaders, staff (especially from the Municipal Mayor's Office), and volunteers who were at the booth to offer their services have Manobo blood. They sacrificed their time and energy to serve the people visiting the booth to eat. They enthusiastically provided their services day and night because the Mayor was also there, which boosted their morale.

Despite their efforts, many are still unsatisfied. This attitude of some people affected their optimism about helping. Gladly, the leaders of this municipality know how to ease their negative emotions by example. They survived the six-day festival, serving more than a thousand hungry visitors from morning until evening.

The Result of All Collaborative Efforts

The efforts and sacrifices of all who contributed to that week-long event were worth it. The municipality won champion, second place, and other awards that gave pride to the MLGU and the people of Loreto.

Evidence of Satisfaction

Social media, specifically Facebook (now called Meta), has evidence of the satisfaction and happiness of many people (during the Naliyagan Festival) because of the foods and drinks the MLGU of Loreto joyfully served at the booth. The official Facebook page of the MLGU, Shine Loreto Bibo Loreto, has the story.

Congratulations!
