The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) of the Philippines sent a Notice of Allowance informing us that the trademark application has been allowed and its publication in the Official Gazette under Sec. 133.2 of Republic Act No. 8293 has been approved.
The purpose of the publication is to determine if there will be opposition to the application. Payment of the publication fee of Php 910.00 (small entity) or Php 970.00 (large entity) is required to facilitate the publication of the mark.
There is also an option to pay the Issuance and 2nd Publication Fee (for the Certificate of Registration) of Php 1,484.70 (small entity) or Php 2,181.60 (large entity).
Few more steps to go to make the mark our Official (registered) Trademark.
The Intention
A registered trademark (the mark) adds value to an entity. According to an article published on Financier Worldwide, the mark provides a piece of real property that forms part of a business’s assets.
