The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) is a highly sought-after award presented by the DILG to local government units (LGUs) that excel in various areas. The SGLG promotes transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in local governance, encouraging LGUs to enhance their performance and service delivery to meet the needs of their constituents effectively. The criteria for the SGLG include financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business-friendliness, environmental management, and tourism, culture, and the arts.

Under Mayor Otaza's leadership, Loreto has implemented various programs and initiatives contributing to this success, including enhancing disaster preparedness measures, promoting sustainable environmental practices, and fostering a business-friendly environment that attracts investment and generates employment opportunities.

A key factor behind Loreto's success is its strong sense of community. The residents of Loreto have demonstrated remarkable resilience and unity, working together to overcome challenges and achieve common goals. This spirit of cooperation and mutual support has been instrumental in the municipality's progress and development. It exemplifies what can be accomplished when people unite with a shared vision and purpose.

As we celebrate this milestone, it is important to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. From local government officials and employees to community volunteers and residents, each person has contributed to making Loreto a model of good governance. Their collective efforts have not only earned the municipality the SGLG but also created a positive and thriving community where everyone can prosper.

The recognition of Loreto as an SGLG awardee serves as an inspiration to other LGUs across the country. This award also highlights the importance of good governance in fostering sustainable development and improving people's lives.

The challenge for Loreto now is to sustain and build on this success. The municipality must continue to innovate and find new ways to address the evolving needs of its residents.
