The Municipality of Loreto, Agusan del Sur, is not new to national television attention. The insurgency keeps this municipality in the limelight. GMA Network published lighter news about Loreto, Agusan del Sur, in 2012. It is a phenomenon that has never happened before in the country (or has not been recorded, at least).
A batch of Miss Earth 2019 candidates visited the municipality and went to Panlabuhan Floating Village. The national and international television networks aired some of their activities and then published the videos online.
That was the beginning of the good publications about Loreto.
The image of a chaotic and frightening place due to the insurgency is slowly changing.

Today, Loreto is known as a place where culture and nature meet. As an environmental advocate, the incumbent Municipal Mayor leads the implementation and promotion of green infrastructure programs, projects, and activities for sustainable growth. The plants growing within the municipal grounds and on the center islands are the outcome of their efforts.
The competitive nature of the current Mayor brought Loreto to a better light. The municipality's negative image because of the insurgence is slowly transforming into a positive one. Loreto is now known as an emerging municipality with hospitable leaders promoting good governance and sustainable peace for growth.
The local and national media noticed Loreto. One is GMA Network's "Biyahe Ni Drew," a travel documentary show hosted by Drew Arellano and broadcast by GMA News TV and GTV. Their team sent communications to the provincial and local governments to do their shooting in their target municipalities, including Loreto.
On April 28, 2023, the production team arrived in Loreto and stayed at Loreto Microtel. On June 4, 2023, they aired the show on GTV. They published the full episode on GMA Public Affairs' YouTube channel on June 11, 2023. It had 21k views within 22 hours of its online publication.
