Three Hundred Pesos Worth of Vouchers Distributed

With the intention of the Municipal Mayor of Loreto, Agusan del Sur, to help the citizens of Loreto and the local entrepreneurs, vouchers worth 300 pesos were distributed to the locals, including the tricycle drivers parking within the Municipal grounds on April 14, 2023, during the flag retreat.
Inflation and rising prices of commodities weakened the purchasing power of the residents of Loreto, which resulted in weak revenue for the vendors in the new public market. To ease the burden of those renting in the market, they initiated free vouchers for the locals of Loreto.
Those with vouchers can get what they need from the public market.
We believe that the voucher initiative is inspired by the World Food Programme's global food assistance response. We learned about WFP's program through the ShareTheMeal application, which is also developed by WFP.
According to WFP, food vouchers not only support the target beneficiaries but also the growth of the local economy.
It is indeed true because, upon interviewing the vendors, they were very happy. After all, it's been more than a day since their sales were very low. The intervention of the local government was very timely.
Loreto's local entrepreneurs and residents are very happy and grateful to the local chief executive for her initiative to help them.
