Overcoming Challenges

While the celebrations were undeniably successful, there were challenges behind the scenes. Limited funds were a major hurdle, which the resourceful leaders of Loreto tackled by securing sponsorships from local businesses like Nature's Spring, Dave Construction, Union Bank, and Mr. Bom Travel and Surf. Their financial and logistical support significantly contributed to the amazing lineup of events.

Learning from Feedback

The MLGU actively listens to constructive criticism. Some residents expressed a desire to see the return of local harvest displays in huts, a beloved tradition that adds a unique touch to the festivities. Additionally, there were suggestions for better representation of various groups within the community, including the LGBTQ+++ community, senior citizens, and indigenous people (IPs).

The MLGU acknowledges these valuable points. Time and financial constraints likely played a role in these aspects, and the MLGU is committed to finding solutions for future celebrations. By doing so, they can ensure everyone feels included and represented in Loreto's vibrant cultural showcase.

Building a Brighter Future

The recent festival is just the beginning for Loreto.  As they move towards the 2030 agenda, the lessons learned and positive community spirit will undoubtedly be the driving force for continued success.   Loreto's journey is an inspiration, demonstrating how a dedicated community can overcome challenges and shine brightly.
