LLEED Loreto Local Economic Enterprises Development is now a Registered Trade Mark

The Journey

In 2021, we decided to register the LLEED logo as a Trademark on the IPO Philippines website. The filing started on November 17, 2021.

On June 24, 2021, we received an email from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) eCorr Team v2. It was about the Registrability Report stating the result of the examination of the application.

On March 9, 2022, we received through an email the Notice of Allowance informing us that our application was allowed and the publication in the Official Gazette was approved. We paid Php 970.00 for the publication fee.

In May 26,2022, IPOPHIL mailed the Notice of Issuance and Second Publication Fee. We paid Php 1,484.70 for the issuance fee (Certificate of Registration) and 2nd publication fee.

We received an email from the IPOPHL on June 25, 2022. Attached in that email is the Certificate of Registration. After almost 8-months of working while waiting, LLEED (Loreto Local Economic Enterprises Development) is now a registered trademark with ten years term.

The Certificate of Registration

The Certificate of Registration contains the registration number, date of registration, term, and other details about the trademark. It has the signature of the Director of the Bureau of Trademarks.

Next Step

A Declaration of Actual Use (DAU) must be submitted to IPOPHIL to maintain the trademark. Within three years from the filing date, it is a requirement to submit a DAU. That is our next step. For a small entity with less than 100 million worth of assets, the amount to pay during the third year DAU is Php 900.00 per class.
