The total population of Loreto, Agusan del Sur in 2018 is 40,593. The annual population growth rate is 1.48%.
The total labor force population is 25,513. Forty nine-point forty percent (49.40%) or 12,610 are unemployed based on the 2018 CBMS survey.
The unemployment rate around the world grew exponentially because of the pandemic. Based on the infographic by the United Nations ESCAP 2021, unemployment increased by 15 million.
Despite the crises brought by the pandemic, it did not stop the current MLGU leaders seek progress and activities for development.
Many development projects are almost done (or done) and more are coming or ongoing.
The municipality has allocated a total of Php 384,890,000.00 for economic development which includes operationalization of Economic Enterprise, construction of the business center, acquisition of economic sites, the establishment of a food processing site, slaughterhouse, Microtel, and cottages for tourists indicated in the MPDC Loreto-2020 Midterm Update-CDP (2017-2022).
