Loreto, Agusan del Sur: Power Supply

In 2018, ASELCO distributed power supply to 6,061 households, or 64.9% of the total household in Loreto. Based on the calculation, there was an increase of 66.79% from the 2015 record from the updated CDP (2017-2020) of 4,048 households. Furthermore, Sto. Tomas has the highest proportion (81.2%) of households with electricity followed by Bugdangan (79.3%) and Maitom (76.3%). The barangays without electricity based on the 2012 and 2015 data that are now catered by ASELCO are Kasapa, Katipunan, and Sabud. The inadequate power supply from ASELCO brought new sources of energy to the municipality. Some of these are generators (used by 37 households), batteries (28 households), and solar power (248 households). Solar energy is under the provision of the Barangay Line Enhancement Program (BLEP) and Sitio Electrification Program (SEP) by ASELCO through off-grid solar energy.
